Hiking Peek-a-Boo and Spooky slot canyons is basically a loop between the two canyons. You come to Peek-a-Boo first, hike up that canyon, and then take a short trail that connects to the top of Spooky to hike down that canyon. Once you reach the bottom of Spooky, a trail then takes you back up to the entrance.

🔸Once we arrived at the top entrance to Spooky slot, it was obvious what the directions had been trying to say: If you find yourself in a wash east of the top of Peek A Boo slot, just follow the wash. On most Southern Utah bucket lists, you’ll find the local favorite one-two punch of Peek-a-Boo and Spooky Slot Canyons. These magnificent hikes, located in the Dry Fork area of the Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument area, can be done individually, but they make for a killer loop you can tackle in one afternoon of adventure.

The Peek-A-Boo and Spooky slot canyons are both accessed from the Dry Fork Trailhead located 26 miles down Hole-in-the-Rock Road near Escalante, Utah. The road is a bit rough, but I was able to make it both times in a Corolla without much trouble. From the Dry Fork Trailhead, the trail will take you a half-mile down into Dry Fork.
